I am currently sitting in a city called Prince Albert and I still giggle

I think they use the dental cement like in braces not through the tooth.

My ex had a smiley. Hot af, but always looked fragile to me. Had stretched a little naturally. Think she had it for maybe 3 or 4 years at that point.
My first tongue piercing chipped a corner off my premolar 🤷‍♂️

They're different things actually, you're thinking about tooth gems. Here is an actual dental piercing.
They're dangerous and stupid and that's why you don't find many on image searches.

Professional piercer of 30 years here. Many of these piercings should never be performed. They’re not safe and any piercer willing to do them has zero integrity and only wants your money.
Also, almost none of these names are real and were made up by non-piercers. Also the placements of the majority of these is horrific, to say the least. Seriously, the majority of these should never be done.

I was thinking this, I'm not a professional piercer, but I've heard snake eyes on the tongue are bad because they pin two muscles together?
level 2
Hey! I am curious about the traditional central lower labret piercing shown in this photo. Does it leave noticable scarring if you decide not to wear it anymore?
level 1
“Snake eyes” are in the wrong spot. That’s a piercing that goes horizontally through the tip of the tongue. Very dangerous and should never be performed. Smiley, frowney, and uvula piercings are also dangerous.

This is types of facial piercing, not types of body piercing
How is there something wrong with every single guide posted in this sub

Fun fact: the Snug is named after a clothing company in Toronto, Canada in the 90's.
  • Can confirm, was there.

Almost every girl I see now on tick tock and Instagram have that septum piercing. It's not my thing but hey if they like it more power to them. I just don't get why they suddenly became so popular
level 2
It's a non cartilage piercing so it heals within few months, easily the least painful possible nose piercing, doesn't have the nasty self destruct feature that eyebrows or any surface piercing/implant does, doesn't have to worry about food like anything oral or oral adjacent... probably lots of reasons but from a practical standpoint it's a very sensible piercing to choose if you want something more daring than lobes.
level 2
A few years ago when I was last on Instagram, I noticed a bunch of girls I went to school with had them. Turned out they were just fake, why get it for real when you can just buy some cheap eBay shit and stick it in ya nose!
level 2
If I were to hazard a guess, it's defiance, mostly. It's a middle finger to traditional beauty standards, it's a statement in bodily autonomy in a time where that's actively regressing, and it pushes back against boomer "unemployable" mindsets, just like mid-00's rise in tattoos.
It probably also helps that repels unsavory, unaccepting types like right wing nutjobs like a forcefield.
I'll be honest, they give me the squick aside from some very specific ones like snakebites, but it's more of a sensation thing where I keep picturing them getting caught and tugging/tearing. Would never presume to tell someone not to do it, though.

Wait a fucking second this thing says uvula piercing wtf I have so many questions?? How tf would you even put that piercing in??
level 2
You don’t. They aren’t really a thing - a few were done in the 90s/early 2000s, when body piercing was still pretty experimental. These days no reputable piercer will perform them, as they know they’re unsafe. (Of course plenty of terrible piercers who will shove a needle through anything for money still exist, so I’m sure a few people get them on occasion, but most people know it’s a no-go)
level 2
And in my opinion, every one of these are extremely unappealing, especially septum. Different strokes for different folks

personally when i see a hot girl thats a solid 10/10, a nose piercing drastically brings the rating down. Especially the bull piercings. Different tastes i guess

I believe I've clicked links on the internet that led me to places where piercings on the body went further down than that.
level 1
Grotesque. 🤢 some of these physically make me ill. Uvula piercing? Who in their right mind would do that to someone?!
level 2
I’ve seen a few, but only on piercers - they’re incredibly difficult to heal well, so most professionals will only do them on people who they know have the skills and experience to heal it. @roguepiercing on instagram has an example of one a little while back if you’re interested!
